just me...

Okay, so here goes my soundtrack of life. Some of the explanations to why I chose the songs are really dumb because I couldn't really think of what to write. And, if you know me, most of my songs are sappy and slow. Oh well.

--------------------------------

Opening Credits: “How Deep Is Your Love?” – The BeeGees…because they’re the BeeGees! I love them and this song! And I like the beat to it and how you can totally sing to it. Actually, I think I put this on here for the sake of having a BeeGees song.

Waking-Up Scene: “Serenade” – Shades… because this is the first song I listen to when I get to my computer. I don’t know why. And, it’s also the song I used to wake up to before, so therefore, it’s my song for this scene. Plus, I like how it sounds.

Spring Scene: “Wouldn’t It Be Nice?’ – The Beach Boys…because it just has that feeling of the beginning of Spring and it evokes the carefree feeling I have at the end of the school year

Average-Day Scene: "Home” – Michael Buble … because, as corny as this sounds, on most days, despite what goes on in my life, sometimes “I just want to go home…”

Best-Friend Scene: “When You Say Nothing at All” – Ronan Keating… because I think with best friends, there’s just that quiet understanding with one another—that it is in those quiet times when you are totally comfortable with one another that the relationships deepens and strengthens

First-Date Scene: “So Into You” – Tamia… because this song just has that first date (but not really) vibe for me. The lyrics talk more about past the first date, but it’s all good.

Falling-In-Love Scene: "Make Me Whole” – Amel Larrieux
… because that’s ultimately what you want to feel when you fall in love.

Love Scene: "By Your Side" – Sade … because it’s just that good.

High Scene: “Feelin’ It” – Jay-Z… because you’re simply “feelin’ it” when you’re high on life like that.

Hook up Scene: “Part Time Lovers” – Stevie Wonder… because although the whole sneaking around and cheating thing is not cool, you’re still hookin’ it up. And also, it just shows that two can play that game, not that I would ever play it. Haha. Oh yes, it was between this and “Secret Lovers” and both are about cheating. Yeah, I don’t know.

Sex Scene: "Give It to Me While It’s Hot” – TLC… because with lyrics like “Don’t answer the telephone, shut the windows, lock all the doors, need no interruptions now, something’s ‘bout to be goin’ down”, how can it not be a sex song?

Summer Scene: “Your Love (L.O.V.E. Reggae Mix)” – Wyclef Jean feat. Eve… because this song just has a good summer-like beat. Carefree and whatnot.

Fight-With-Friend Scene: “I’ll Be Around” – The Spinners… because even though this is more of a “break up” song in a sense, I think this is ultimately how I feel when I’m in a fight with a friend. Despite drama or ongoings, I try to let them know that in the end, I’ll still be there for them. Oh, and also, this was a main theme song in one of my biggest friendship fights/misunderstandings, so I’m always reminded of that when I hear this song. Ha.

Break Up Scene: “Don’t Speak” – No Doubt… because listen to the lyrics, they’re so fitting. And also, if you know me, I need a No Doubt song in here.

Get-Back-Together Scene: "Better Together” – Jack Johnson … because it is always better when we’re together.

'Life's Okay' Scene: “Refuge (When It’s Cold Outside)” – John Legend
… just because.

Fall Scene: “You and Me” – Lifehouse… because their music always makes me feel like it’s Fall. When I listen to this, I imagine sitting on a park bench watching the leaves on trees change colors from green to the orange, tan, fall-ish colors they become. Lame, I know.

Heartbreak Scene: "One Last Cry" - Brian McKnight
… because it’s so sad and my heart does break when I hear this song because you can feel the pain in the lyrics. And plus, I had to have a Brian McKnight song in here.

Mental-Breakdown Scene: “I Feel So” Boxcar Racer … because for some reason this is the song I always play when I’m feeling a little heated and aggravated. I think seeing them live and how Travis was all hardcore on the drums made me want to release some aggression. HAHA.

Driving Scene: “Back to You” – John Mayer… because it is a song I could just listen to while driving. I like listening to acoustic stuff when driving. And it’s not too mellow.

Winter Scene: “Once Upon a December” – from “Anastasia” Soundtrack… because this song fits well for the scene

Lesson-Learning Scene: “Superman” – Five for Fighting… because I think the lyrics are fitting for this. We’re all just people and sometimes people expect a lot out of us, but sometimes those expectations can take a lot from us and it isn’t easy.

Falling Asleep Scene: “Amie” – Damien Rice … because it’s so slow and mellow that I could listen to it and just sleep. And, all his songs are so sad that I’d want to fall asleep.

Deep-Thought Scene: “Can’t Take That Away (Mariah’s Theme)” – Mariah Carey… because when things get tough and I feel like everything in my life is going crazy and end up thinking way too much, I listen to this song and realize that I have to have faith in what He has in store for me, and that I can’t give up.

Flashback Scene: “The Journey” – Lea Salonga… because this song is perfect for this scene

Party Scene: "Only You (Remix)” – 112 feat. Notorious B.I.G. and Mase … because every time I hear this song, I’m brought back to a happy party a long time ago. And it’s just a fun song to party to.

Regret Scene: "So Many Things” – City High … because in life, there are many things that we fail to do and that we regret. There are things we don’t say or ask and we often lose the chance to do so.

Happy-Dance Scene: “Dancin’ in the Moonlight” – Toploader… because it’s got a nice but mellow beat that you could totally dance to.

Long-Night-Alone Scene: “All At Once” – Whitney Houston… because I love her old stuff and I think on a long night alone you think about a lot of things and “all at once” you have these realizations about life. It’s a little on the sad side, but that’s me when it’s a long night alone. Wow, sad.

Spiritual Scene: "Flower in the Rain” – Jaci Velasquez… because this was the song I used for my KAIROS talk, and hearing this song always brings me back to that moment of vulnerability and strength again.

Closing Credits: “Seasons of Love” – RENT … because I like this song and musical a lot, and I feel that at the end of it all, I want be able to measure my life in love.

Okay that's all. Bye my loves.
